I SUCK AT GAMES

HappyConsoleGamer released a video about his addiction with Final Fantasy XI today which I was ecstatic to see in my inbox. I'm not sure what episode it was on, but years ago on All Gen Gamers I remember a segment of him and Petedorr reminiscing about this game and I just found it to be very fascinating. So, are there any games that you had an addictive attachment to like they had to FFXI? I think the only thing even comparable for me would be Bad Company 2 in terms of consuming my life. I was only working two days a week at the time while going to college, and that summer (I think 2010) my buddy and I played Bad Company 2 from 9am until the sun went down sometimes even into the following day. Eating up just about every day I didn't have to work, and in a two month span I ended up clocking 250 hours into that game lol. The only thing that put it to an end was my semester starting up or else it probably would have lasted longer. MMO's don't really seem to get me though. I'll have a weekend here or there where I'll play a ton, but then I don't touch them for a few months at a time. Edited by NinjaPenguin8969, Aug 16 2015, 05:42 PM.

bad Company 2 was one for me as well, putting over 300 hours into it, it was always fun. Another game would be Street Fighter 4/ Super Street Fighter 4. It took so much effort to learn combos and train reaction time and button pressing that I ended up getting very carried away with those games. It got to the point I had to force myself to stop. |

Halo 3 Online Multiplayer has to be my number 1 gaming addiction. Thousands of hours spent strafing, ghandi-hopping and Out-BR'ing people has been a blast. One of my favorite shooters of all time |

For me It would have to be a MMO. I play a lot of MMO's and online games in general. I have probably played EverQuest or WoW the most but i did spend a lot of time in Final Fantasy 11 as well. I have also sunk a lot of hours into Diablo III. Edited by majinpowers, Aug 21 2015, 09:33 AM.

hands down for me it was Day of Defeat... I used to play every day after school until I had to go to bed. I actually became quite skilled at the game and was invited to play in CAL but I was to young at the time to travel for tournaments. |

I played World of Warcraft and Source Engine shooters (Day of Defeat/Counter Strike, Half Life 2 Deathmatch) so much that I literally spent all of my free time playing them. When I wasn't at school or at bed, I'd use 98% of my time just playing those games. In terms of time investement: World of Warcraft>>>>>>>Counter Strike Source>Day of Defeat Source>Warcraft 3>Half Life 2 Deathmatch>Wolfenstein Enemy Territory>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2>Other FPS games I think put close to 10 000 hours to World of Warcraft between 2006-2010. Might've even exceeded that amount by a bit. Now I'm staying clear of online games. |

I was addicted to Halo 3 mulitplayer real bad. When it first came out it was my first 360 game I got with my initial 360. At the time I was in the college dorm and had moved into an apartment which had great internet. For the first time I had broadband internet and could play online games. I put hundreds of hours into the online multiplayer, mostly big team battle and team battle. I remember I was a master with the laser and could snipe people across the map with it. As the series continued I put tons of hours into ODST, Reach, and Halo 4 and I plan to do the same with Halo 5. It was my first real online game and I was addicted to the FPS action. For the first time, I was one of those people playing online competitively like the shows I watched on G4 and online. |

^ Same dude, I played a fuckton of Halo 3 in the dorms. That and Modern Warfare 2 are probably some of my best experiences in terms of multiplayer and just having a ton of friends around. I played Bad Company 2 with a friend or two nonstop, but every night I always had a full party/game full of friends in Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2. Seriously, good times! I thought Modern Warfare 2 was insanely broken and it pissed me off to no end, but I always had a room full of friends every night for that game
