Dragon Quest Heroes, a PlayStation exclusive blending the Dragon Quest universe with the Dynasty Warriors hack 'n slash formula, could be coming to Steam. According to Gematsu, a pop-up ad appeared in the Steam client briefly last week, linking to a page that doesn't exist yet.

That website managed to grab a screenshot of the advertisement though, which you can see below:

You'd be forgiven for not knowing much about Dragon Quest Heroes – it's never been confirmed for PC, after all. The premise is promising though: according to reviews for the console version it's a meaty RPG dressed up in a fluid, combo-driven Dynasty Warriors suit.
Still, it's not been properly confirmed yet. Square Enix has recently gotten into the habit of bringing its traditionally console-only games to Steam, so fingers crossed we'll get an official announcement soon.

So this is like a Hyrule Warriors for Dragon Quest? I haven't heard of this really until now.

Pretty much, but Hyrule Warriors felt like they just reskinned Dynasty Warriors whereas this one feels like they really tried to keep some of the RPG basics in tact. Plus it has it's own storyline and doesn't just give you maps thrown together from classic Dragon Quest games. My favorite addition is that you can summon monsters to help you fight and defend objectives while you're away which really play a strategic role and make it feel a bit like a tower defense game.

I really like what I played of this game so far :]

I'm really glad this is coming to PC, though i really hope that SquareEnix aren't gauging interest in the DQ franchise based on it's sales. I want to see the whole franchise released on PC someday, just so that everyone can have an easy and accessible way to play it, but i don't want to see them being put off by what could possibly be a lukewarm reception. The game looks fun but being a Dynasty Warriors style game, of which the series is already on Steam, with no multiplayer options and quite a high price tag...they may see themselves expecting a little too much from it. :-/

I feel like in the last 2 years there has been a trend of Japanese games coming to PC. Tales of Zestiria came to PC, a lot of Final Fantasy games have been coming to PC, Xseed seems to be putting a lot more of their stuff out on PC.

If there's some Christmas sale I'll probably buy it. I've been meaning to get into a Dragon Warrior/Quest game for some time now, and I'll probably wish the first 4 for Nes (though the 4th is kinda rare and expensive). Or maybe you guys could point me to where you should start with the series? I've heard the first is dull and archaic but I thoroughly enjoyed the first Zelda so...

If you have a PS2 then I think Dragon Quest VIII is a great starting point (it's coming to 3DS next year). If you don't but have a Nintendo DS lying around then I'd recommend Dragon Quest IX :] It's not a traditional game but if you end up enjoying the characters in this series then I'd also recommend checking out Dragon Quest Rocket Slime on the DS as well.

A few months ago I was playing the first Dragon Quest game, aka Dragon Warrior via NES emulation, and it is quite enjoyable, I need to finish it. I want to get the later DQ games though, heard the series is quite fun.

I had never been a huge fan of the series along with a lot of other JRPG's, as they were not released over here in the UK, but DQVIII was a hell of a lot of fun. It's pretty generic as far as JRPG's go, but it has a lot of charm and I do love an alchemy system!
